21h  ยท The Geason family are one of many Tassie footy families with strong links to umpiring.

Phil started umpiring in the STJFL with son Nathan when Nathan was around 12 years of age. The family has given outsatnding service to the umpiring community and football in Southern Tasmania and especially the STJFL.Phil was awarded Life Membership of the STJFL in 2015.

Phil and his sons Liam and Nathan, are all part of the TFUA Inc. and have all been involved in umpiring our great game for a number of years.

“Umpiring clubs are just like footy clubs. We have great support around us, get to stay fit while spending time with our mates and as a bonus earn some pocket money for our trouble.

“I’ve seen where Nathan and Liam have come from. I used to drag them along to umpiring, and now they love it and are among the best in the state. Seeing them run around every weekend makes me so proud,” Phil said.
